Alan Villatoro is a Guatemalan musician from Huehuetenango, raised in a pastor’s family where he learned guitar in church and toured Central America with the church music team as a teenager. He studied composition at Instituto CanZion in Durango, Mexico, then spent six years as pianist and music director with Marcos Witt, including on Latin Grammy–winning live albums.
In 2002 he moved to Houston, Texas, to direct Spanish-language music at Lakewood Church. As a producer and keyboardist he has collaborated with artists such as Coalo Zamorano (Latin Grammy–nominated Cosas Poderosas), Ingrid Rosario, Vertical, Ana Laura, and others, and has released solo work recognized with Dove and Latin Grammy nominations.
He continues to tour internationally with his band and to work on new music with artists each year.
